Public Charging Infrastructure.jpg)
E.ON will be working with Coventry and Birmingham City Councils as part of the CABLED project to install 36 public charging posts at a number of sites around the two city centres.
The posts will be installed in small clusters and a spread of locations type has been selected (including multi storey car parks and pavement side locations) to ensure that the CABLED project gains the best possible insights into user’s charging behaviour and the effect on the electrical distribution network.
Users of CABLED vehicles will be provided with a coded access tag, which will enable them to unlock and connect to the post securely.
Other electric vehicles users can apply for an access tag to use the charging posts please click here to download the application form.
Domestic Charging Infrastructure
As part of the CABLED trial, each user selected will be provided with a 13A electric socket, in a suitable location on their property to enable their vehicle to be charged at home.
The first stage of this process will be a visit to survey the user’s property in order to
- Confirm the overall condition of the property’s electrical wiring and its capacity to support vehicle charging
- Identify and agree a suitable location for the charging socket
- Gather any other information that will be required by the installation team
The second stage will be a follow up visit to install the socket and ensure that the user understand how to use it safely
Workplace Charging Infrastructure
The CABLED consortium is aiming to recruit as many users as possible from the employees of its members.
Based on the outcome of the user selection process, clusters of charging sockets, similar in design to the domestic charging solution with be installed at a number of workplace locations in Coventry and Birmingham.
